Purgatory?

Purgatory is a place of rest for the dead prior to their final destination, heaven or hell.

This is taught by the Catholics, yet is unfound in the Bible. The Catholics base this belief on a section in the Apocrypha, 2 Maccabees 12:39-45, which speaks of offering sacrifices for dead persons "that they might be delivered from their sin".

This belief was rejected later by most Protestants after the Reformation (partly because the Catholics abused it).

Hebrews 9:27
And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,

According to scripture, we only have the short time on this earth to choose our final destination.
